Aquatic and Wetland Plants

This is a class I’m taking for my biology minor. Every week for lab we go on a field trip to various swamps, bogs, or ponds. Today we learned about 30 different species. My waders leaked. Tomorrow we have a quiz on those 30 species. Latin names, common names, special characteristics. Holy crap. I gotta study.

I can tell you that Poison Ivy (aka. Toxicodendron radicans) doesn’t have 3 leaves. Those 3 leaves you see are actually leaflets, combining to form one leaf. It’s a compound leaf, ya dummy.

Fun right?!?!
